Faneco - a partner for the healthcare sector

Hygiene and setting new standards in the healthcare sector is now more important than ever. It is crucial to follow strict hygiene protocols and have certified equipment. The National Institute of Public Health has been confirming the importance of testing products used in hospitals for years.

That is why every new product on the market should have appropriate recommendations, certified by certificates. Currently, the most recognized document of this type is the Hygienic Certificate issued by the State Sanitary Inspection, which confirms that the product complies with current standards and is recommended as safe.

The most common question from manufacturers - is the PZH Certificate mandatory?

Until recently, it was mandatory for most devices and materials used in both construction and water and air conditioning installations. Since 2016, a new regulation has narrowed down the group of certified products, mainly to those that come into contact with drinking water and those that can in any way affect the health and safety of people or the environment. Sanitary fittings and equipment are mandatory in public buildings. A special group is made up of healthcare facilities.

The PZH Hygiene Certificate undoubtedly involves additional costs, which manufacturers at the product design stage or in the early stages of market introduction would like to avoid. It's not worth it - comments a consultant from the Institute, because due to strict legal regulations, avoiding testing can result in a serious financial penalty - he adds.

The stages of the process seem quite simple. Applications are publicly available, downloadable from the main website www.pzh.gov.pl. The application must be accompanied by the necessary documentation and registered, assigning it a number. However, obtaining the PZH Certificate is preceded by a successful product testing - which is already a very detailed and meticulous series of tests. Products are tested for quality, chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Why is it worth having a PZH certificate?

  • The certificate is a LEGAL GUARANTEE
The manufacturer or entity introducing the product to the market is legally responsible for the safety of their product. Even unknowingly exposing someone to health damage or illness can have significant consequences.

  • QUALITY AND SAFETY indicator
It is useful during tender procedures or supplier selection processes. It can also be one of the criteria for evaluating products when qualifying them at a certain level of the distribution chain.
This applies primarily to products for healthcare facilities.

  • Competitiveness indicator
A conscious contractor, having a choice of several different products in the same category, will certainly choose the one that has been tested by experts and is safe for health. In addition, a manufacturer who voluntarily certifies their products demonstrates special care for the needs of their customers and the quality of their products.
